2016 Film: [ 23 Identity (Split) ]

This is [ 23 Identity ], the second film in M. Night Shyamalan's trilogy. (The original title is Split, but because a Korean movie with a similar title was released around the same time, it was changed to 23 Identity. This unfortunately turned into a non-spoiler spoiler...) Starring the well-known actor James McAvoy, this movie begins with a malevolent personality among the 23 distinct identities kidnapping and imprisoning teenage girls. Through the girls' escape attempts and the protagonist's confrontation with his multiple personalities, the film creates a chaotic situation, heightens the tension, and ultimately gives birth to the 24th personality, the protagonist known as [The Beast]. Up to this point, it feels like another one of Shyamalan's well-made thrillers, but the twist at the very end elevates this movie into the core of a grand trilogy. I highly recommend this film, which boasted excellent acting and brilliant direction.
