Today's Delicious Lunch: Sundae Gukbap

I was craving a hot bowl of Sundae Gukbap (Korean blood sausage soup) again today, so I visited 'Subaekdang' (寿百堂), a franchise specializing in this dish, for the second time. This time too, I ordered the Sundae Gukbap Set without hesitation. The milky, rich broth boiling in the full pot was a work of art. The first spoonful was amazing, with the deep, savory broth warming me up from the inside. The tender meat kept coming. The cheat codes for the set were the garlic-marinated pork slices and two types of sundae. The pork, generously topped with a sweet and subtle special garlic sauce, burst with juice the moment I took a bite. It was exquisite, meltingly tender without any harshness. The chewy sundae, packed with filling, had a delightful texture, and the white sundae was the epitome of savory. Finally, I finished off with the perfect dessert: 'Ppang-seukeurim' (뻥스크림), a sweet ice cream served with crispy, savory puffed rice crackers.
