Are there any countries you'd try to dissuade a friend from visiting if they were going abroad?

I really can't handle the heat, so I wouldn't even consider Southeast Asia or equatorial regions, but that's a personal issue with my constitution, so recommendations from others wouldn't really apply. Honestly, I'd need to have been there or know something about it to recommend anything, but maybe Egypt, known for its poor safety, could be one to avoid? Ironically though, I'd love to see the Pyramids and Sphinx at least once before I die.
