Fossils are used as fuel to make oil, but how are regular animal bones processed? (Besides landfilling)

Bones are processed through rendering. After extracting fat under high temperature and pressure, the remaining residue is recycled into bone meal, which is used as fertilizer or animal feed. It's also used for gelatin extraction and making snacks.
