Today's Delicious Lunch
For lunch today, I was craving tonkatsu after a long time, so I went to a specialty restaurant near my company! The menu I chose was the 'Sang Rose Katsu,' which includes pork collar. It came out as a neat set with rice, soup, and salad, alongside kimchi, pickled radish, and pickled chili peppers. The freshness of the salad and the savory soup perfectly balanced the richness of the fried cutlet. The visual alone is impressive. The chewy fat layer, characteristic of pork collar, releases a rich, savory flavor. The trapped juices burst with moisture in my mouth, just like in the picture โ it's truly exquisite. Especially when paired with the Himalayan salt provided, the umami is maximized. It allows you to fully savor the meat's natural tenderness and deep aroma, more so than dipping it in sauce. I was extremely satisfied!
