Rare Fish Catching Guide

Rare fish can be caught at Mystery Islands and C.J.'s Island. If you can't go there, they can also be caught on your own island. You'll need more than 30 bait. Sharks, Whale Sharks, Marlin, Ocean Sunfish, and Coelacanth appear in mid-August. Coelacanths are often caught when it's raining or during dawn/night! So, if you catch a Coelacanth, it would be around August 17th? Around 4 AM would be a good time to go, right? Look out for naturally spawned fish with fins, or any large fish that seem to be of a decent size - catch them all. And Marlins only appear at the pier! To catch Coelacanths, Whale Sharks, Sharks, and Ocean Sunfish, we use bait. Coelacanths are the size of Sea Bass, while Whale Sharks, Sharks, and Ocean Sunfish spawn with fins. Lastly, for Marlins, if you cast bait at the pier, they appear among medium-sized fish. This is how I managed to donated some to the museum and sold others... how much did I get again? I caught a lot back then!
