The Movie 'Your Name.'
Makoto Shinkai's animated film "Your Name." (2016), which garnered over 3.8 million viewers in Korea and received immense love, is a masterpiece that tells the miraculous story of Taki, a Tokyo boy, and Mitsuha, a country girl, who switch bodies in their dreams. What comes to mind first when thinking of this work is its lighting and background direction, which are more beautiful than reality. The dazzling cityscapes of Tokyo and the intricate buildings in the rural village where Mitsuha lives, as depicted in the film, are actually the result of the production team first designing the entire village as a 3D space using 3D modeling software, and then drawing over it. The director and the production team precisely calculated the building placements, the angles of sunlight, and even the characters' movements using 3D graphics, and then overlaid their signature delicate 2D illustrations. Behind the secret of each scene feeling like a landscape painting, there was sophisticated modern technology and hidden effort.

It's a magical movie of light and color...โช Knowing the technical effort makes the scenes even more touching. Thanks to your delicate perspective, I feel like I'll be gazing at the night sky for longer today...โก

No wonder this work has such beautiful backgrounds! ๐ ๐ณ It's even more impressive when you realize they first designed the space in 3D and then added the detailed artwork. ๐
I keep saying I'll watch this anime but I still haven't. When will I ever get around to it? There's so much else I want to watch and no time.

The anime was really fun, and I think the OST was great too. I'm still looking for concert videos of RADWIMPS, who sang the songs, collaborating with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
