Natsume's Book of Friends
Today I recommend 'Natsume's Book of Friends,' a healing anime about the daily lives of yokai. Synopsis: This is an anime that tells a mysterious and warm story about Takashi Natsume, a boy who can see yokai, returning their names to the yokai through the 'Book of Friends,' a keepsake from his maternal grandmother. The 'Book of Friends' was created by Natsume's grandmother, Reiko Natsume, who could also see yokai. She made it by making bets with yokai and taking their names when she won. Reiko did it without much thought, but names are actually very important to yokai. An item like the 'Book of Friends' is akin to forbidden magic, as it allows one to control yokai and even dictate their lives. Therefore, yokai come one after another to Natsume, who carries Reiko's scent, to get their names back or to use the 'Book of Friends'. There are 7 seasons of the anime, and Nyanko-sensei is very cute lol. He's a lucky cat mistaken for a chubby raccoon, but he claims his original form is very cool and that he became one with the vessel because he was sealed in the lucky cat doll for too long lol. His real name is Madara.

I knew Natsume's Book of Friends was famous, but I've never actually watched it lolll. It's amazing that there are 7 seasons, that's a lot of content! 😈 I've seen Nyanko-sensei in so many memes, I didn't even know he had a separate original form lolll. I like healing shows, so I should give it a watch. (Luna, do you think I can watch it within a year...?)

I really, really love Natsume's Book of Friends too!! ㅠㅠㅠ I especially love the scene in the 5th season where Natsume catches a cold and the two middle-ranked yokai struggle to get medicine for him. Luna, what's your favorite scene?

If I say 'Ah, I already know all this,' will I sound like someone who watches too much anime?
