JYOONiii
Masquerade
This is a historical fiction drama that begins when 'Gwanghae', the King of Joseon, who was suffering from assassination threats, finds a substitute to risk his life for him, and summons 'Haseon', a jester from the marketplace who looks exactly like him, to the palace. Haseon, the jester who becomes the king's substitute, gradually begins to move the hearts of those around him by practicing politics for the people in his own way amidst the deadly political struggles within the palace. The perfect harmony of actor Lee Byung-hun's chilling dual role performance, profound emotion, and occasional bursts of delightful laughter leaves a deep impression on the question of what true leadership is. It is a masterpiece of Korean historical cinema that I strongly recommend.

It was impressive how Hah-sun, while playing the king, gradually showed more kingly qualities👍 I really hoped he was the real king.

The scene where they said goodbye to Hahaeon, who was on the last boat, was also touching.

This is one of my favorite historical dramas. I think I've watched it about 50 times already haha "If I am the king, a king whom the people call their husband, Even if I have to steal, rob, or beg, I must save them. My country and my people are ten times, a hundred times more precious than the rites of subservience you hold so dear."

I thought Lee Byung-hun's acting was really good. I remember he played two roles, and it didn't feel awkward at all.
