No steamer, so...
Just throwing these songpyeon straight into a pot and boiling them!! lolol, it'll be fine, right...? I didn't see the instructions to use a steamer when I bought them, and I can't be bothered to return them... so I'm just boiling them. The sesame ones are too sweet, and I haven't seen chestnut songpyeon lately so I couldn't buy them... ใ ใ Going with the bean ones!

Boiling them makes the outside chewier and it's a delicacy. Don't panic if you don't have a steamer. Just be careful not to overcook them and enjoy!

There's too much water! Next time, you can put the rice cakes and water in separately in the microwave.

Back in the day, we used to make everything ourselves, but now we just buy the pre-made stuff ^-^ I ate it that way too. Have a great rest of your time!

They're delicious even when soaked in water. They'll have a texture like tteokbokki with the flavor of songpyeon.

Sometimes I make songpyeon and sometimes I don't, but I skipped it this year haha

I think it would have turned into a songpyeon soup?๐๐

It's okay, but... the inside gets all mushy and wet, so the texture is a bit weird haha. Well, it's up to personal preference... that way is convenient though.. Steaming is a hassle.. or like others said, microwaving it with some water.
