I saw 'The Roundup' on TV
It wasn't something I'd actively recommend to people around me. It could be a hit, but 16.9 million viewers...? I'm a bit surprised.

Personally, I felt it was like a documentary acted by actors, perhaps because there weren't many major events. It felt like the actors' performances carried the whole thing. Still, I enjoyed watching it ๐๐

There weren't really any good movies out at the time, so it ended up being good timing.

I'm one of those who don't understand the huge success either ๐ I think 'Donggong' actually had a better story, amazing acting from the cast, and it seemed like they had a harder time filming it and went through more trouble.

It's only that much because you saw it on TV; if you watch it in a theater, your blood pressure will really rise. It feels like people recommend it thinking, 'I can't be the only one to suffer, you should suffer too.' Watching Korean movies in a theater feels like a waste of money. I stopped watching them for a while, but then I saw 'The Roundup?' out of curiosity and realized once again that Korean movies shouldn't be watched in a theater.
