9. Teach vs. Point

1. 'Teach' literally means to impart knowledge or skills to someone else. It can also be used to mean making someone realize their mistakes or awakening them. Ex) Parents taught their child Korean. The world has taught me many things. 2. 'Point' means to indicate or show an object or direction with a finger, etc. 'Point' is also used to represent or refer to a fact or object. Ex) I pointed to that paper with my finger, the clock is pointing to 12. The red mark indicates danger, this number indicates population growth rate. 3. 'Teach' means to inform, and 'point' means to indicate. Ex) Teach English (inform about English), point to the blackboard (indicate the blackboard). 4. If you are imparting knowledge or skills, remember it as 'teach'. If you are indicating a specific person, place, direction, or object, remember it as 'point'. 5. Conclusion 'Teach' means to inform, and 'point' means to indicate.
