Don't dwell on the past..
I saw this on X and brought it over because it's a good post. I only corrected typos, the content is the same! There's a Buddhist parable called the 'second arrow'. It's a really scary concept. The first arrow is when someone hurts you, right? The second arrow is when you keep thinking about that incident afterward, getting angry and regretting it on your own, and even becoming suspicious of new people you meet. The first arrow was shot by someone else, but from the second arrow onwards, you're shooting yourself repeatedly. So, when Buddhism talks about 'letting go,' it doesn't mean giving the other person a pass, but rather not constantly giving them space in your mind. If you hold onto the pain from someone else's words for too long, you're the only one who loses. They're living their life just fine, while you're constantly trapped by those words. Let's not hold onto any negative emotions and live our lives wonderfully, friends.

Letting go of the arrows aimed at yourself is the true beginning of healing. May your resolve embrace you warmly.
