Pros and Cons of Countryside Living...
I actually live in the countryside. I used to live in Seoul, but this is how it turned out... My address is in the 'Ri' part of 'Eup-Myeon-Ri', so we have a village chief (Leejang-nim). Obviously, there's no subway. The last bus stops running before 9 PM. The destinations you can reach by intercity bus are also limited. There's no bus to Daejeon, so I can't even go to Sung Sim Dang ㅜㅜ I have been there before though, with my dad's car... The closest convenience store is a 30-minute walk away. We do have Baemin (delivery app), but late-night delivery? No way. Originally, Baemin was also completely empty here ㅎㅎㅎ Now for the pros: I'm the youngest person in my neighborhood by farㅋㅋㅋ So my mom is called '>Baby Mom<' even though I'm an adult... Since the town is small, when I run into someone on the street, I just say hi. We're all neighbors anyway... The biggest characteristics of the countryside: clean air, you can see stars at night. There's a stream right in front of my house, so the view is great (this is specific to my neighborhood). Since there's no late-night delivery, it forces you to correct your eating habits... Countryside = Detached house = Quiet However, sometimes there's noise from upstairs, but since the cause is my parents, I can only protest weakly ^^...

Wow, you're really living the country life! It's bittersweet that you can't get late-night delivery, forcing a dietary change, but it must be great for your health. It's amazing that you're healing while watching the stars in such a quiet place!

You know, those things you can only feel in the countryside haha I used to spend my entire summer vacation at my grandma's house when I was little... Back then, there weren't any supermarkets, just small grocery stores... and even general stores haha My grandma's house was in the middle of nowhere, so all you could see were rice paddies and fields when you went outside.. haha. But there was a place that sold snacks and candy, and now that I think about it, I think my grandma just sold them to the neighborhood grandkids who visited occasionallyㅋ... Like an illegal street vendor? ㅋㅋ I remember buying a big lollipop there for 50 won.... Back then, I used to cry and refuse to go because I was bored ㅠ (My parents were both working.. haha). But now, even though I want to go, I can't because my grandparents have passed away.. Living in the countryside is boring, but it feels healthy haha

That's right. Cities and rural areas each have their pros and cons.

If you look at it positively, all the downsides can become upsides haha. It's nice to be called a baby too lololol

Heh, it seems like infrastructure issues are a common problem everywhere when you live in the countryside.

Noise between floors in the countryside too.. wow lol

The air, the nature, and how quiet it is, I'm so jealous of the view. It would be the best for healing since my bronchial tubes aren't great.

A mild protest~~ haha If it's noise between floors, it's a 2-story house or more~ If you have a 2-story house in the countryside, you must be a local big shot^^

I'm so jealous~~ The last time I went to the countryside was probably when I visited my grandma's house as a kid. I remember it took about a 15-minute walk for a child to get to the supermarket, or rather, the general store haha. So back then, I hated my mom for sending me to my grandma's during summer break, but now I miss my grandma and my mom who are no longer here, so I rarely get to visit the countryside unless I make a special trip.. It must be great living in such a nice place. My dream is to live in the countryside once my kids grow up~~~ I'm even looking at land right now haha. I'm so envious~~ ^^

I'm from the countryside too, I totally get it. It's hard to order delivery, and the delivery fees are super expensive. If I want to eat out, the last bus is at 9 PM...

If you have a view of the stream, the mosquitoes must be insane in the summer...

My uncle's house (my old grandpa's house) is truly in a remote mountain village in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do. It's to the point where if you go up the mountain behind it a bit, there are places where your phone won't get reception.

Everything has its pros and cons, but the countryside really lacks major hospitals ㅠ My paternal grandmother passed away at 98 two years ago, and my paternal grandfather's house is in a village that was one of the last places in Jeju to get a convenience store ㅠ I used to visit often when I was young, but there were no kids my age, no arcades, and nowhere to play, so I'd end up sleeping over at my aunt's place in Jeju City ^^ They say it's the largest village unit in the country, and the wind is also the strongest, so I catch a cold almost every time I visit recently ㅠ

I lived in the countryside when I was young, so I can relate. Of course, there are many pros and cons to living in the countryside. Buses stop running early, and the nearest town is quite a drive away. Personally, I have many fond memories of the countryside, so I feel more attached to it :)

I think my mind would be at ease. Right now, my body is comfortable, but my mind isn't, so... Living in Seoul is tough. ㅜㅜ

I also moved here from the Seoul metropolitan area. If you compare your situation to mine, it's like you're living in the boonies 😅

I've lived in rural areas, but never experienced actual country living, so I've always been curious about the night sky. I wonder if I'll ever get to see a sky full of stars someday?
