R&B Legend. Luther Vandross - I'd Rather

Yesterday, Joel posted a Luther Vandross song, so I'm posting one too. Honestly, I don't know many of his songs besides this one, and I don't particularly like them. I really liked this song, which made me wonder, 'Who is this artist?' That's how I found out he's a giant of R&B, and I tried listening to his other songs, but they weren't really to my taste. This song is universally loved, with very few people disliking it. It was even chosen as one of the favorite pop songs by Koreans in a past survey. The title 'I'd Rather' is a contraction of 'I would rather,' meaning 'I would prefer to do X,' and it's apparently used often in conversation. The lyrics say that rather than comfortably getting along with someone else, the singer would rather go through a hard time with you. The catch is that they only realize this after breaking up and trying to date someone else!! I was looking for something to link, and I found a video that seemed a bit too loosely translated. I'm linking it because I think it'll be easy for those less proficient in English to understand, and perhaps amusing for those who are more fluent.
