I went to a self-service store one Chuseok morning because I wanted ice cream. There were some kids, about elementary school age, picking out snacks and ice cream. The self-service store is a bit large, so by the time I went in and was picking out my ice cream, they had already paid and left. I was picking out more items and headed to the kiosk. Then, a girl from that group of elementary schoolers came in, picked out some Pokemon cards next to the kiosk, and said to me, 'Please buy this for me.' ?? What? Is she talking to me? I thought to myself. She then said, 'How much is this?' and scanned a Pokemon card at the kiosk. It was 1,000 won, and she asked me to buy it. Since she was blocking the kiosk, I couldn't pay for my own items, so I said no, I don't want to buy something for a stranger. The girl was still there, saying, 'You just scan the barcode like this and pay,' and asking me to buy it. I told her no one more time. I thought if she kept blocking me, I'd just put my ice cream back in the fridge and leave. But the girl canceled her selection with a disappointed look and left. As soon as I paid for my items and left, the kids from earlier asked the girl where she had been. The girl said, 'That uncle is so stingy, it was only 1,000 won.'
