Jeju Island

It is the largest island and a representative volcanic island located in the southern sea of South Korea. Centered around Hallasan Mountain in the middle of the island, unique landforms such as numerous oreums (parasitic cones), lava caves, and columnar joints have developed, and it is registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. Administrative Districts: Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (Jeju City, Seogwipo City) Geographical Features: It is a volcanic island formed around Hallasan Mountain (1,947m) in the center, with about 360 oreums and coastal columnar joints creating spectacular scenery. Major Attractions: Hallasan National Park, Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, Manjanggul Cave, Hyeopjae & Hamdeok Beaches, Seopjikoji, Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, etc. Local Cuisine: Grilled black pork, meat noodles, braised cutlassfish, omegi tteok (millet rice cake), Hallabong oranges and tangerines, etc. Jeju Island boasts different charms every season.
