Why I Stayed Away From Heavy Metal

Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me Def Leppard also has a heavy sound, but strictly speaking, they aren't heavy metal. They were the kings dominating the Billboard charts during metal's golden age. I was obsessed with this song back in the day. When I was in middle school, I stopped by a record store after school. The owner insisted I buy an Iron Maiden record that day. I bought it without really thinking and on my way home, some scary older guys in the neighborhood snatched it from me. It was my chance to get into metal, but I missed out. It's a secret that I started avoiding them because they were so intimidating. Heavy metal had many bands with intimidating names like Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Mayhem, and Cannibal Corpse. Besides the really noisy ones, I listened to all the commercially famous bands. From the softer ones like Poison and Mรถtley Crรผe, to Guns N' Roses and Skid Row. I even listened to the slightly heavier ones like Cinderella.

Getting your board snatched by the neighborhood older guys, that's a cute ordeal for you back then, unlike your usual self. The memories of living immersed in music are quite bittersweet yet intriguing.

LOL, it reminds me of an anecdote from a certain group where someone went to find a company to debut, only to find the same guy who used to extort money from him in the neighborhood. Maybe that scary guy who took his records actually had similar tastes?
