Misaeng

Perhaps we feel joy and sorrow not because of work, but because of human relationships unrelated to it. A company is also a place where humans live. This is a representative famous quote from the tvN drama "Misaeng" (2014), based on a webtoon, which resonated deeply with viewers and received immense public acclaim and praise. It's a confession from Jang Geu-rae, who, despite having no special specs and coming from a background as a promising professional Go player, struggles through his internship and endures the harsh realities of working as a contract employee at a ruthless trading company. It highlights that even amidst fierce competition and a performance-driven work environment where one gets hurt and beaten down, it's the small but warm affection and trust shared with colleagues that ultimately helps people endure and stand up again. It's a memorable scene that offers profound comfort and resonance to all office workers navigating the harsh modern society.
