One of the Most Memorable Performances at Live Aid (Dire Straits/Sting)
The largest charity rock festival in its 85-year history was held. It was gathered to address African refugees and famine. 'We Are the World' and 'Do They Know It's Christmas' are songs created for the same purpose. Numerous pop stars of the era performed, and a few performances particularly excited the crowd. Queen, U2, Dire Straits, etc. This song is Dire Straits' biggest hit, and its opening guitar riff is still talked about today, being so catchy. Sting participated in the songwriting and also provided backing vocals. The combination of Mark Knopfler's rough, spitting vocal style and Sting's charming voice is excellent. I ended up posting this while looking for Sting's songs.

Mark Knopfler's guitar riffs intertwine with Sting's vocals, leaving a lasting impression. Do you feel a different kind of energy compared to the blues we talked about last time?

It's a song with a calm yet bouncy, rhythmic feel. I'm addicted to the staccato guitar riffs! 😆👍

The guitar sound is so addictive! The song is quite long though.

The live energy comes through, making the music even more dynamic. ^^ I've never been to a rock festival in my life, but I've heard so many stories about them I could recite them by heart. Bundles of posters and event t-shirts were the standard, as expected. Singers who are good at their craft are always so full of confidence. That radiating self-assurance, rock 'n' roll!!! Thanks for sharing. ^-^
