Is the difference in emotional distance between your paternal and maternal families significant?

Mine is extremely, extremely, extremely significant. My paternal relatives lived relatively close by when I was young. We used to have ancestral rites quite often back in the day, so I'd see them once every month or two, including holidays. I have a lot of cousins, with varying age differences. Also, my paternal side has a huge economic advantage. Since I saw them often growing up, they had a nicer house, I could eat better food, and get more pocket money, so naturally, my heart leaned towards my paternal family. My cousin went to the same high school I did, so we'd even run into each other while getting snacks. As for my maternal side... well... when we get together, it's too loud. Not just lively, but genuinely noisy, to the point where it's hard to bear. My parents and my maternal uncle and aunt went on an overseas trip together, and they treated my dad like a errand boy, which made me dislike them even more (my dad has quite a temper, so he didn't just do whatever they wanted). It's also annoying that the convenience store owner, who acts like he's generously giving us snacks, gives us expired, discarded items. It's not just a day or two past the expiration date!! It feels like they're just dumping their trash on us.
