Have you guys seen the Chiikawa movie?

The current animated movie, [The Chiikawa Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island], is quite the talk of the town. There have been unfortunate incidents where people unfamiliar with the original work were fooled by the cute art style and ended up watching it with their young children 😅 I only knew Chiikawa as characters and didn't know the detailed settings. When I heard it was on the same level as Evangelion, I doubted my ears, thinking 'Really, that much?' But after hearing reviews... Yeah, it makes sense 😰 Have you guys seen Chiikawa? If you have, did you know what kind of work it was when you watched it, or did you watch it without knowing?
