Like Human Fingerprints... Dog's 'Nose Print' for Biometric Registration

Just as everyone has unique fingerprints, dogs also have a distinct pattern of wrinkles on their nose surface called a 'nose print' (bimon), which is unique to each individual dog. Recently, local governments have been expanding pilot projects for 'nose print biometrics,' where pet dogs' noses are photographed with smartphone cameras to register their information, instead of implanting microchips or using external collars. This technology is gaining attention as an eco-friendly pet registration method that can effectively prevent abandonment and loss without causing physical pain or burden to the dogs.
