Day 11 at the Hospital
Summary: They ignored the call bell twice? Following a recommendation from a staff member, I was told I could receive more help on the 11th floor. So, I've successfully moved to the 11th floor! 1. I pressed the call bell twice to ask for an IV pole, and only got a "Understood" response. Luckily, the nurse was nearby, so I didn't have to press it a third time. What are they going to do in an emergency...? 2. My neighbor snores really loudly. My sleep quality is declining. 3. I had to walk to the counter myself to get them to properly assist me. They forgot to bring my blanket, and I'm cold because I was moved to a window seat. 4. The floor's operating procedures are completely different. I received no prior notice about this, nor any orientation for the floor. Even Minecraft teaches you to press WASD and left-click towards a tree. 5. I have to record this myself too? On the 13th floor, they even recorded my urine output for me, but here they expect me to do it myself... ...Operations can differ, I guess.. yeah.. 6. So, my first impression of the 11th floor is ruined. It seems like a system that screws you over if you don't have a live-in caregiver?

It seems the way help is given varies depending on how much room to maneuver you have. Floor 13 is for patients who need more help, and Floor 11 is for patients who have more autonomy. Honestly, they should have just said so from the start... It's strange for the patient to feel like the quality has dropped after being told they'd get more help. Pat pat.
