[Question] T types, how would you handle this?
Someone I've had a crush on for a while contacted me, saying they had a problem. "I don't need solutions, just listen to me." So I listened intently, and then suddenly they asked: "But what do you *want* me to do?" How would you respond in this situation? Assume this person is someone you like^-^

Ah, so you need my advice after all! I'll put my thinking cap on and help you figure it out, I bet.

First I thought, 'Are they kidding me?' and then I explained it logically.

If it were me, I'd pause, quickly sort out the situation and my thoughts in my head, come up with several options (like 'n' of them), and then eliminate the less effective ones. Or, I'd recommend a method like, 'This is what I would do.' People with decision paralysis tend to listen to their friends' advice for the former, and make decisions based on the latter.

The moment I heard you say 'just listen to me,' I was already thinking about solutions... And I'm a little excited because you can explain it step-by-step and clearly.

You might think they're being two-faced, but I think they'd still answer lololol

You really need my advice, don't you? You'd probably say something like, 'What would you have done without me?' and just tell me.

It seems like you just wanted confirmation for an answer that was already decided? ใ ใ ใ If you were really curious as a T, it feels like you already gave the answer and asked, 'What do you want me to do?'!

I want you to take it straightforwardly, that's the vibe lololol

It might sound contradictory, making you wonder 'What kind of person are they?', but since I like them, I guess they'll at least consider it.

It depends on the person, but if you give advice when the answer is already obvious, they might lose interest. "Listen to my story" -> High chance it's an F who's going through a tough or frustrating situation and wants empathy. "What should I do?" -> They definitely would have talked about the person or situation that troubled them before saying this. They're much more likely to want someone to take their side rather than an objective solution. In these cases, I recommend badmouthing the other party with them first, then if you want to offer a solution, suggest one they'd prefer or try to build rapport by asking 'Need help?'

I feel like they'd say, "What do you want me to do? Just do whatever you want~"

I just let things go in one ear and out the other... So what's the conclusion you're looking for??

You said there's no solution.

I'd just tell you what I would have done if I were you.
