Emart is weird
They advertise sales and 'lowest prices' with flyers and banners, shouting it out loud. But somehow, it doesn't feel that cheap. Sometimes it feels like there's not much difference compared to when there's no sale...

Seems like it's just a lure. They say this and that is on sale, but they only drop it by about 1-5%, and even then, if you buy some of it, you end up spending the same amount as you normally would.

They say there's a discount or sale, but when you look, there's really not much difference. Lotte Mart seems like that too ㅠㅠ

The hidden truth behind sale price tags • Inflated base prices: This is a tactic where a product usually sold for $10,000 is sneakily marked up to a 'regular price' of $20,000, and then advertised as "50% off! Special price $10,000!" • Bait and switch tactics: Only a few super-sale items at the very front of the flyer are genuinely cheap. The rest of the products we end up buying alongside them are sold at their usual price (or even higher) to ensure profit. • Clever quantity manipulation: Prices remain the same, but the quantity is reduced (shrinkflation), or bundled products are cleverly priced to increase the unit cost.
