Check-in
Just found out today there's a new survey reward. I did one and it asked for my birthday four times in a row. Feels like a pretty buggy system...

Recommended Food - Yakiniku Edition
Ginzan Yakiniku This is an all-you-can-eat yakiniku place. First off, let me tell you, it's really hard to get a reservation. They open reservations a month in advance, so if you want to eat here, you need to book beforehand or you won't get in. Unlike typical all-you-can-eat yakiniku places that serve a basic meat platter, which might not always be tasty, their basic platter is a nine-section grid. It seems some of the meats on it aren't available on the regular menu (I didn't ask what they were at the time, I just thought they were delicious, but later when I tried to order them, I never got the same ones). So, you absolutely must get the nine-section platter, don't just dismiss it as a basic starter. The meats are all about preserving their original flavor, and importantly, many of the cuts are thick (which is great if you're worried about not getting enough). The drinks are served in to-go style cups, like you'd get from a bubble tea shop. The options are so many it's like they opened a separate drink store inside the yakiniku restaurant. They have pure teas, milk teas, cheese foam teas, sodas, sours, hot drinks, and special blends – a rich variety. However, I personally only drink unsweetened tea when eating yakiniku (their unsweetened tea is good and not bitter!), so I haven't tried the others. As for the seafood, I can only say the freshness and quality are top-notch. My friend kept ordering more shrimp, but my personal favorite was the 'peeled' blue diamond shrimp. Having an option where you don't have to peel the shrimp yourself is a blessing for the lazy! The assorted tempura, fried oysters, grilled shrimp, and drunken shrimp were all above standard.

Why do you see 'little bugs or jellyfish' floating around when looking at the sky or a white wall?
It's not dirt in your eye, but shadows cast on your retina by 'microscopic floaters' inside your eye's vitreous humor! The inside of our eyeballs is filled with a transparent, jelly-like substance called the 'vitreous humor.' As we age, use 3C devices for extended periods, or develop myopia, the collagen fibers within the vitreous humor gradually degenerate and clump together, forming extremely small fibrous masses or droplet-like structures. When you look at a bright, uniform background (like a blue sky or a white wall), your pupils constrict, allowing light to pass through the eye. These tiny collagen clumps block the light and cast their own shadows onto the 'retina' at the back of your eye! So, those 'little bugs' you see are actually tiny shadows dancing inside your own eyeball!

Why does the air have a special scent after it rains?
Have you ever noticed that the first rain after a long drought brings a special scent, fresh and earthy? This smell has a romantic name: 'Petrichor'. Actually, this scent mainly comes from two sources. The first is oily substances released by plants and accumulated on the surface of soil and rocks. When raindrops fall, these substances can be dispersed into the air with tiny water droplets. The second is 'Geosmin' produced by microorganisms in the soil. The human sense of smell is very sensitive to it, and can detect that familiar earthy smell even at low concentrations. Interestingly, when raindrops hit porous ground, tiny bubbles are created, and when these bubbles burst, they can release fragrant particles into the air. 💡 Today's little knowledge: The scent after rain is not just the smell of rainwater, but the natural aroma created by plants, microorganisms, and raindrops together!
