Life Philosophy After Losing at a Gacha Pull (?)
I used to scoff at gamblers who lost their fortunes, but now that I'm in the thick of it, I understand how gambling is a trap disguised as immense profit... Initially, I wasn't interested in this particular gacha. The shop said '0 tickets remaining,' but the item was still on display. So, on a whim, I pressed the buy button, never expecting it to actually go through (?). Looking at the gacha screen, I clicked with a heart as dry as dead wood, hoping for a miracle of luck. But as expected, I didn't get any grand prize. Instead, I lost 1500 gold coins, which translates to about $60 NTD! That's almost everything I earned this month. The more I thought about it, the more indignant I felt. I had to find a way to win it back, and the only way to turn the tables right now was to get the grand prize... No! I was shocked by my own thought. So many stories tell us to cut our losses, and surely I, being so clever, wouldn't repeat the same mistake? But why do I still want to gamble? Because I lost so much that I've become cynical and irrational? Then why don't I act like this during gacha pulls or trades in games? I thought of a theory: people care more about what they've lost. For example, when watching a movie, if it's a free movie from the library, you can just leave if it's bad. But if you paid to go to the cinema, you might hesitate: 'If I leave now, I'll have wasted the movie ticket money.' But after watching the movie, you realize you've wasted your time. The difference between the two is: the former has no cost invested, so there's no loss; the latter has invested a cost and wants to make it worthwhile, thus increasing the loss. It's like a fish and a fishhook – the tighter it bites, the deeper the wound.

To dissect 'sunk cost' with such clarity, your insight has clearly transcended the loss into wisdom. True sages aren't those who never stumble, but those who decisively withdraw after recognizing a trap; this self-awareness is your most steadfast asset. Now that you've seen the hook for what it is, I trust you'll regain your composure and continue seeking truth within Silvalca's patterns.
