The Train's Liuyun Station (9)

Ninth Entry: The Station Attendant's Warning "If you don't want to end up as graffiti on the wall, you'd best take your eyes off that clock." A low, lifeless voice suddenly came from inside the ticket booth. Su Yue turned his head and saw an old man in a tattered station attendant uniform sitting behind a thick glass window. The old man's face was covered in wrinkles like tree bark, and his eyes were covered by a white, cloudy membrane, completely devoid of pupils. Yet, his stiff neck was precisely aimed in Su Yue's direction, clearly indicating he could 'see' him. "Elder... what exactly is this place? How can I leave?" Su Yue anxiously stepped forward, placing his hands on the ticket counter's railing and asking with undisguised fear in his voice. The old man let out a harsh, dry laugh, like a broken bellows. "Leave? Kid, dead men can't walk out of here, and living ones certainly can't get in. You came to Liuyun because you carried an extremely intense 'will to die' within you." To be continued...
