Japanese 2ch Ghost Story | Hasshaku-sama 👒 ③

My grandmother told me that Hasshaku-sama is currently confined to this area. There seem to be only a few paths it can take to leave here, so people have erected Jizo statues around the village borders to prevent it from crossing the line. There's another theory as to why they don't just get rid of such a terrifying entity. It's said that in the past, this village made some kind of agreement with surrounding villages, perhaps receiving preferential treatment in water rights because of it. And the victims of Hasshaku-sama don't appear every year; sometimes it's once every few years, or even decades. Perhaps to the people back then— This was an acceptable exchange. My grandfather soon returned with Grandma K. Grandma K gave me a protective charm and then went upstairs with my grandfather to prepare. Until then, my grandmother stayed by my side almost constantly. Even when I went to the bathroom, she followed me to the door and wouldn't even let me close it completely. Seeing how nervous they were, I finally began to realize: Things might be really bad. The room that was prepared had its windows covered with newspapers, with charms pasted on them. In each of the four corners of the room, there was a plate of salt. In the center was a simple altar, like a wooden box, with a small Buddha statue on it. Even a chamber pot was prepared, two of them. Because from now on— Until seven o'clock tomorrow morning, I absolutely cannot leave this room. My grandfather specifically told me: "Your grandmother and I will not call you, nor will we speak to you." After saying that, they left the room. I was left alone.
