Can humans really make 'wild wolf friends'🐺?

The answer is: yes, they really can, and this wolf even made quite a few friends🤣 In 2003, a wild black wolf appeared near Juneau, Alaska, USA, whom residents later nicknamed Romeo. Gray wolves are highly social animals that typically live in family-based packs. However, Romeo was often seen alone, leading to speculation that he might have been the last surviving member of a local pack – possibly due to several wolves being hunted or dying in accidents before his appearance. Unfortunately, this backstory cannot be confirmed due to a lack of tracking data. Interestingly, Romeo, despite being alone, began to approach dogs brought by residents! He wasn't aggressive; instead, he'd invite them to play, run together, or even bring them things to fetch. Over time, Romeo not only met many dogs but also learned to recognize familiar humans. While he remained cautious around strangers, he would sometimes approach residents he knew. This unique relationship lasted for about 6 years. So, Romeo wasn't a 'tame wolf' raised by humans, but a wild wolf living freely, who chose to return again and again to see his friends. We'll never know for sure if he did this because he lost his pack and needed companionship.
