Linking LINE for Parents Has Hidden Dangers! Forgetting This One Step Could Lead to Your Own Account Being Deleted

• Limited-time phone number binding: LINE requires users to bind their phone number by December 31, 2026, 23:59. LINE accounts that are not set up by the deadline will be forcibly deleted by the system, and all data within the account, such as stickers, coins, and chat history, cannot be recovered. • Recommended binding of four items: To ensure account security, LINE officially recommends users set up a phone number, email address, password, and link either an Apple account or a Google account. • Do not reuse data: The phone number and email address bound to each account must be 'unique' and not have been used by other accounts. • Trap when binding for parents: Many people, when setting up LINE for their elderly parents, use their own phone number, email address, Apple, or Google account for convenience. • Old account invalidated by re-binding: Once data already bound to your old account is duplicated and set up on your parents' new account, the old LINE account that originally set up that data will immediately become invalid or unlinked, leading to your own account becoming unusable and all data being lost.
