The Never-Ending Staircase (Campus Ghost Story) 2

Xiao Wen was walking down the stairs while scrolling on his phone. "Fourth floor, third floor, second floor…" When he reached what should have been the first floor, he found the fire escape door painted with a large 'B1' in red. Xiao Wen paused for a moment, thinking he had miscounted the floors while distracted by his phone. So, he turned and continued downwards, figuring there would be an exit to the parking lot from the basement. However, he descended another two full floors. The air around him grew colder and more eerie, and the walls became damp and stained. When he looked up at the floor indicator again, it read: 'B5'. This building was supposed to only have one basement level! Goosebumps prickled Xiao Wen's skin, and he immediately turned and sprinted back up. He climbed the stairs frantically, counting the floors in his head. He didn't know how long he had been climbing; his legs ached and he was breathless. When he finally saw a fire escape door with a faint light shining through, he joyfully pushed it open. Behind the door lay a dark corridor. At the end of the corridor, standing by the department office door, was another Xiao Wen, scrolling on his phone and about to head towards the emergency stairs.
