Item #: SCP-003 Object Class: Euclid Special Containment Procedures: SCP-003's temperature must be maintained at a minimum of 35 degrees Celsius, ideally above one hundred degrees Celsius. No multicellular lifeform of complexity 4 or higher is to come into contact with SCP-003. In the event of a total power failure, if SCP-003-1 begins to increase in mass, designated personnel must make skin contact with SCP-003-1. Ideally, personnel should use their body heat to restore SCP-003-1 to its critical temperature; however, skin contact must be maintained even after SCP-003 reaches its active temperature, lasting at least until SCP-003-1 has fully progressed to its second growth stage. Personnel entering SCP-003's containment area must first undergo a parasitic inspection to ensure no biological parasites of complexity 4 or higher are present. If such a parasite is detected, it must be sterilized. All personnel who have made physical contact with SCP-003-1 must report immediately afterward and await sterilization. SCP-003-1 is not to leave SCP-003-2 except in the aforementioned emergency situations. Any significant changes in the pattern, frequency, or color of any runes on SCP-003-2 must be reported within three hours of occurrence. Cessation of activity must be reported immediately.
