SCP-078-JP - The Eternal Warming Pack

Designation: SCP-078-JP Object Class: Keter Special Containment Procedures: SCP-078-JP is contained within a tungsten vacuum chamber connected to a vacuum apparatus at Area-8104. This chamber and its vacuum apparatus must be continuously cooled with liquid nitrogen to protect the aforementioned equipment from the heat emitted by the object through conduction and radiation. Backup equipment must also be available for immediate transfer should the primary equipment become inoperable. If the backup equipment also fails, low-oxygen gas must be used to suppress the object's reactions until new equipment can be delivered. SCP-078-JP must be transferred to the backup equipment every two weeks of each month, and the primary equipment must undergo a thorough inspection. If any anomalies are found in the equipment, it must be repaired immediately. Personnel involved in the transfer work must be familiar with the SCP-078-JP Transfer Procedure (Revision 18). To date, this transfer work has resulted in the deaths of 27 personnel and injuries to 34 personnel that are beyond treatment. Description: SCP-078-JP is visually indistinguishable from a common disposable warming pack, and its properties prevent investigation of its packaging or internal contents.
