The Vanishing Tenth Customer

A-Jie is a night shift clerk at a convenience store located halfway up a mountain on the outskirts of town. After 2 AM, the area is almost deserted. One night, around 3 AM, the automatic door of the store suddenly chimed open. A-Jie looked up to see a woman in a yellow raincoat enter. Strangely, it was a bright, clear day outside. The woman, keeping her head down, slowly walked to the refrigerated display at the farthest corner of the store, picked out a bottle of drink, and then proceeded to the counter to pay. A-Jie, without thinking much of it, scanned the barcode, took the money, and gave her the change as usual. The woman's hand was ice-cold. After receiving the change, she turned and walked out of the store.
