SCP-173 - The Original Work

Object Class: Euclid Special Containment Procedures: SCP-173 is to be kept in a locked container at all times. When personnel must enter SCP-173's containment chamber, no fewer than three (3) personnel are required. On all occasions, the three personnel will be instructed never to allow SCP-173 to break line of sight. If line of sight is broken, personnel are to turn their backs simultaneously. The object is not to be rotated until Mobile Task Force units have returned and secured the object. For more information, see Incident-173-1. Description: The object in question is constructed from concrete and rebar with trace amounts of Krylon brand spray paint. SCP-173 is animate and extremely hostile. The object cannot move when within the direct line of sight of an observer. Any and all observers are instructed not to blink and to alert others when blinking is imminent. Reports have indicated that the object takes the form of a statue, but is actually a sentient being. It is unknown how it is able to move so quickly, or how it is able to kill so efficiently. The object has been observed to snap the neck of victims by reaching towards them with its lower stalk. The object is capable of moving at speeds that far exceed human capabilities. The object is to be kept in a secure location at all times, and personnel are to be reminded to never look away from the object. If the object is to be moved, it is to be done so by at least three (3) personnel, and the chamber is to be locked behind them at all times. If containment is breached, Mobile Task Force units are to be dispatched to recapture the object.
