Horror Flash Fiction | Happy Birthday

On Shen Jing's birthday, a package arrived with no return address. He opened it to find an old photo album. The first page showed a childhood photo of him, but with another person added next to him—a boy who looked exactly like him, but with opposite colored clothes. He kept flipping. In every photo, the boy stood beside him, doing the same actions. But the further he flipped, the less the boy resembled him, his features becoming distorted, his smile growing wider. The last page was a photo of him from this year. He stood in the center, and the boy was gone. On the back, a single line was written: "I'm so glad we finally swapped. Happy birthday." Shen Jing rushed to the mirror. The person in the mirror wore clothes of opposite colors, their mouth stretched into a grin from ear to ear, waving at him. And he looked down at himself - Wearing the boy's clothes.
