Yunlin National Heritage Day 2026 visits Tucheng with the theme "Tracing the City." Through theater, restoration tours, and old street walks, the event aims to lead the public in deeply understanding the local history and culture. Key highlights include: • Environmental Theater and Historical Reenactment: Held in the core area of Tucheng, the event combines the local historical background with environmental theater to showcase Tucheng's past glory and the traces of its urban development. • Heritage Restoration Site Tour: The Secretary-General of Tucheng Shuntian Temple will give a briefing and lead participants into the restoration site of Shuntian Temple. This on-site tour offers participants a close-up look at this center of faith, which was rebuilt between 1935 and 1938 and preserves numerous artisan works and special construction techniques. • Old Street Walk and Food Culture: The Wonder Hospital team will guide participants through Tucheng's old street, exploring local industries, commerce, and lifestyle development through its architecture and street layout. The experience concludes with a traditional local delicacy, the "Dim Sum Platter," to deepen the sensory experience. • Promoting Cultural Integration into Life: Tucheng Township Mayor Chen Te-kai and the Cultural and Tourism Department expressed their hope that this event will allow residents and tourists to gain a deeper understanding of history and integrate culture into daily life. Following the event, 14 walking routes will continue to be launched, and a check-in event to exchange gifts will be held in mid-October to encourage widespread participation from across the nation.
