Mid-Autumn Festival BBQ Alert! Open Locations in 6 Major Cities

This year's Mid-Autumn Festival BBQ regulations for the six major cities are based on the principle of 'most parks completely prohibiting BBQs, with only Taipei and a few other areas allowing them in designated spots': * Taipei City (5 locations open): * Regularly open: 4 riverside designated areas - Dajia (Gate 10), Huazhong, Daonan (Hengguang Bridge), Chengmei Right Bank (MacArthur Bridge 1). * Additional opening for Mid-Autumn Festival: Dajia Riverside Park (under Dazhi Bridge). All other parks are completely prohibited from BBQs. Violators face fines up to NT$6,000. * New Taipei City (6 locations open): * Regularly open: Shulin Lugang Creek Indigenous Peoples Theme Park. * Additional opening for Mid-Autumn Festival (10:00-22:00): Sanchong Zhongshan Bridge Indigenous Peoples Park, Bali Cultural Park, Xindian Sunshine Bridge Rhine Park, Banqiao Guangfu Bridge Bird Watching Park, Yonghe Fuhe Bridge Underpass Park. Other riverside areas and parks are prohibited. * Taoyuan City (1 location open): Only the free BBQ area in Hutou Mountain Park is open (registration required according to on-site regulations). All other parks and green spaces city-wide are completely prohibited. * Taichung City (Designated sites only): * Only the BBQ area in Aofeng Mountain Park and Zhongzheng Camping Ground are open. All other parks and green spaces are completely prohibited. * Tainan City / Kaohsiung City (Completely prohibited): * All parks and green spaces city-wide are completely prohibited from open-fire BBQs (specific paid areas like Chengcing Lake follow on-site regulations). Important Notes: All open areas prohibit ground-level direct grilling (BBQ grills must be elevated off the ground). Charcoal and trash must be completely cleared before leaving. Violators will be fined according to law. It seems like fewer places are open compared to before.
