Two security personnel must continuously monitor the interior and exterior of SCP-039's containment chamber, and the observation room must be checked weekly for any damage or contraband. Currently deceased specimens are refrigerated and may be requested for research purposes. Description: SCP-039 consists of twenty-three (23) Proboscis monkeys (Nasalis larvatus), all of which have undergone significant anomalous modifications as described below: eyes have been removed; the digestive system for the oral cavity has been completely removed, with the esophagus, stomach, gallbladder, intestines, and bladder replaced by adipose tissue of identical structure and composition; enhanced tactile, auditory, and olfactory senses, allowing the item to perceive and differentiate extremely fine details compared to its non-anomalous counterparts; enhanced intelligence.
