Be careful when grilling with a portable butane stove, you could end up with severe burns!
Source: Publicity from Dajia General Hospital and Dajia Fire Department Key points: BBQ accidents: A man in his 20s suffered first-degree burns on his face and second-degree burns on his hands when the oil from grilling pork belly dripped onto the charcoal, causing a flare-up. • High-risk ingredients: Fatty ingredients like pork belly, sausages, and chicken skin can easily cause flare-ups. Keep a safe distance when flipping them. • Burn first aid principles: Immediately move away from the heat source and continuously rinse with cool running water, following the "Rinse, Remove, Immerse, Cover, Send" procedure. Never apply ice directly or use folk remedies like toothpaste, soy sauce, or rice wine, as this can lead to infection. If the burn affects the face, neck, hands, or joints, or if there are large blisters, charring, or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention immediately. • Portable butane stove safety: Keep gas canisters away from high heat sources to prevent explosions. Do not use oversized pots that cover the stove or place multiple stoves close together. Maintain a safe distance when flipping fatty ingredients and ensure good ventilation around the stove.

Aren't butane stoves supposed to use gas canisters? 😶😶😶 Why was there charcoal? It seems like the grease dripped onto the charcoal while grilling on a BBQ rack, causing a flare-up and burning their face.

BBQ is fun and all, but it's probably a good idea to watch a video on dangerous operations first, otherwise you might accidentally make something pretty terrifying 🫠
