SCP-ZH-006 - Popcorn in the True Sense of the Word

Designation: SCP-ZH-006 Object Class: Safe Special Containment Procedures: The item is currently contained in a low-temperature, dry refrigerated cabinet within the Safe-class containment area of Site-ZH-13. Seed samples are preserved in the seed bank. Concurrently, MTF Epsilon-8 ("The Shoppers") is dispatched to purchase remaining items on the market. Description: SCP-ZH-006 is a variety of popcorn (Zeamays L. var. everta Sturt.), a mutated strain of "Shenbao No. 3." The popcorn produced by the item has a butterfly-shaped appearance. Its anomalous effect is the generation of a small explosion when the item reaches 191 degrees Celsius. According to experiments, consuming the item causes no harm to the consumer. SCP-ZH-006 stimulates the olfactory epithelium and taste receptor cells of different consumers differently, causing each consumer to taste a different flavor, typically their favorite. As the item heats up, its color changes from yellow to red based on the current stored thermal energy. Personnel analysis indicates the item's specific heat capacity is 500 cal/g°C.
