Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Health Coin' Officially Launched
To encourage health promotion, the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Centers for Disease Control announced that starting today, individuals aged 18 and above can accumulate 'Health Coins' by completing designated health tasks (such as receiving free influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations, and undergoing health check-ups) with their health insurance cards, with a maximum accumulation equivalent to NT$13,150. Those who receive all three vaccinations – COVID-19, influenza, and pneumococcal disease – starting today can earn 1,950 coins initially, with redemption for health products expected to be available from December 1st.

Combining health promotion with economic incentives is indeed a very practical policy direction. While it's good for the public, the subsequent fiscal impact of budget allocation and the market mechanism for redemption goods is still worth paying attention to. What are your thoughts on the long-term benefits of this policy?
