Retired Old Water Buffalo from Green Island Finds Sanctuary in Yunlin, Story Goes Viral on ICRT

Previous Story: A female volunteer couldn't bear to see an old buffalo slaughtered, so she transported it across the sea before a typhoon and named it "White Dolphin." https://link.playio.co/0y788eh In August this year, the "Water Buffalo Sanctuary Center" in Tuku Township, Yunlin County, took in "White Dolphin," a retired old water buffalo from Green Island. The heartwarming story of kindness has touched many. Recently, ICRT, an all-English radio station, interviewed the story and turned it into an English news report, broadcasting it to listeners and foreign friends. ICRT is Taiwan's only all-English radio station, and on October 5th, it featured the story of this 22-year-old water buffalo during its news segment. The center's owner, Lin Jia-liang, said that when he recently went to the post office, a counter staff member excitedly told him, "White Dolphin was on ICRT!" He was quite surprised and happy, never expecting that even foreign friends would be paying attention. Regarding White Dolphin's current situation, Lin Jia-liang mentioned that it was a bit lonely when it first arrived. However, after more than two months of interaction, it has integrated well with the other buffaloes at the center. It even shows consideration during meal times, waiting for its companions to finish eating before it starts. White Dolphin is also gradually recognizing him as its owner. Initially, it would resist his touch with its horns, but now it allows him to pet it and knows its own name. Lin Jia-liang happily shared that White Dolphin is very spiritual. The day its nose ring was removed, its eyes lit up, and it seemed to truly enjoy its freedom from the restraint. It particularly loves eating sugarcane leaves and has gained about 1 to 2 kilograms. It has even befriended the four stray dogs at the center, with one dog staying by its side almost constantly, like a shadow. It's good that it's doing well. The kind female volunteer must be very pleased too. 😄
