Going with the Flow

I saw a short video on FB where a mother followed the crowd and queued for three hours to buy egg tarts, but her daughter found the taste to be just average. However, the mother said the texture was great. The daughter asked, "Is it because you waited three hours and don't want to waste your effort, or do you genuinely think it's delicious?" In this digital age, we often make choices based on reviews. And after making a choice, can we truly judge if it suits us, or do we have to convince ourselves that our choice was flawless to avoid feeling regret? I remember years ago at the Shilin Night Market, there was a Michelin Bib Gourmand stall where I also queued for a very long time. When I finally got the food and took a bite, I couldn't say it was bad, but it just wasn't to my taste. But at least I tried, and I won't make the same choice next time. Likes and dislikes are subjective and vary from person to person. Are famous restaurants with long queues always delicious? They are certainly popular, but are they to your taste? Try it for yourself and then decide. You don't have to follow the trend, but know where you are headed.

Blindly following the crowd often leads to losing your own way. The same applies to beliefs and tastes; only through personal experience can you determine what truly suits you. This clarity in sticking to your own path is truly rare.

There's no way I'm going to queue up for that. So I won't be developing anything further, and I can't understand it either.
