CDC Urgently Announces: Nearly 500,000 Doses of COVID-19 and Flu Vaccines to Be Purchased Major public health news. Due to extremely high public willingness to get vaccinated after the National Day holiday this fall/winter, leading to a surge in demand, the Department of Health and Welfare's Centers for Disease Control announced this afternoon at a press conference that they will urgently procure nearly 500,000 additional doses of COVID-19 and flu vaccines to ensure sufficient domestic epidemic prevention supplies. They urge eligible individuals to get vaccinated at contracted clinics as soon as possible.
