Random Stabbing Attack Shocks Taoyuan! 25-Year-Old Woman Followed Home and Murdered, Suspect Arrested After Arson Attempt

On October 11, 2026, a shocking random murder and arson case occurred in Bade District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. A 25-year-old woman, Ms. Lu, was returning to her rented apartment around 4 AM when she was followed and attacked by a 36-year-old man, Mr. Lin. She was fatally stabbed in the neck, and the suspect subsequently set a fire in an attempt to destroy evidence. Ms. Lu worked in property leasing and management and had no prior connection to the suspect. According to investigations by police and prosecutors, Mr. Lin was allegedly under the influence of etomidate, commonly known as 'zombie weed,' before the incident. In a state of mental confusion, he lay in wait at the alley entrance for an extended period. He followed Ms. Lu into her home as she returned and attacked her. After the murder, to destroy evidence, Mr. Lin set fire to the body inside the apartment. He then climbed to a neighboring residence and started multiple fires, attempting to create a series of blazes to mislead rescue efforts by firefighters. After extinguishing the fires, emergency services discovered Ms. Lu had a knife wound to her neck and extensive burn injuries. Despite rescue efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. Upon his arrest, Mr. Lin appeared disoriented and coldly claimed his motive was 'I was just angry.' Investigations revealed that Mr. Lin had worked as an ambulance technician for seven years but recently became involved with drugs and quit. He also had a criminal record including theft and assault. Prosecutors determined he is suspected of serious crimes including robbery-murder, arson, and trespassing, and that he poses a flight and evidence destruction risk. A request for his detention and interrogation was granted by the court. They won't give him the death penalty anyway, right? Because some 'dinosaur judge' in a previous murder case said that if you don't kill three people, the circumstances aren't that serious 🙄 Yeah, why cover up that trash's face? I found someone online who posted his face, thanks to that brave soul, may they have peace forever 🙏
