Does pure friendship truly exist between men and women? Psychologists weigh in.

Psychologist April Bresc Lescheck from Vanderbilt University in the US surveyed 100 men and women about their thoughts on opposite-sex friends. The results showed that men, even if nominally friends, tend to view the other person as a potential romantic partner and simultaneously desire sexual relations. Even when they are just friends, men harbor the intention of 'maybe there's a chance for intimacy.' Women do not. Women tend to interact intimately with people regardless of gender.
