He went to multiple convenience stores in Summerville and bought 50 tickets for a lottery game called "Pick4" at $1 each, all with the numbers "0-5-0-0". When the drawing results were announced that evening, the winning numbers were exactly what the man had chosen: "0500". As a result, all 50 tickets he purchased were winners. The South Carolina Education Lottery stated that the lucky winner chose to remain anonymous and did not wish to disclose his identity. While the odds aren't low, it's not uncommon in the US for people to buy multiple tickets with the same numbers and win large sums. In June 2022, a woman named Chapman in Virginia bought 54 identical lottery tickets at once, ultimately winning $236,400 (approximately NT$7.55 million).
